Legendary Indian Cricketer Kapil Dev Receives the First Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine

After PM Modi, Ex-Indian legendary cricketer Kapil Dev received the first shot of covid-19 vaccine. On Wednesday, Kapil Dev got his first dose of covid-19 at the capital’s Fortis hospital. After the India head coach Ravi Shastri, Kapil Dev became a second Indian cricketer who has received the vaccine under the supervision of Dr. Atul Mathur who is a director of Cardiology. And, India head coach Ravi Shastri got vaccinated at Ahmadabad on Tuesday.

Ravi Shastri and Kapil Dev, both got the covid-19 vaccine after India’s vaccination drive stepped its second phase on Monday in which the coverage was extended to incorporate people above 60 and over 45 with co-morbidities.

After suffering from a heart attack, Kapil Dev had undergone angioplasty in October last year. After this, Kapil Dev is continuously having his blood-thinning medications.

Kapil Dev was a fast bowler in the Indian Cricket team. For India, Kapil played 131 Tests and 225 One-Day Internationals. The all-rounder amassed 5,248 runs and 434 wickets in the game’s longest format. India won the 1983 World Cup under his leadership, beating West Indies in the final.

Despite this, Madan Lal who was an important part of the World cup winning Indian team in 1983 got the first dose of the covid-19 vaccine on Tuesday.
