Recently, a second case of Zika virus has been found in Mumbai, said Brithanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday. The first case of Zika virus was found on August 23. Now, a 15-year-old girl has been affected by this virus and she belongs to Suburban Kurla, Eastern Mumbai. The girl, who had other ailments, complained of headache and fever, since August 20 and she got treatment from a private hospital, according to reports. On Tuesday, she was shifted to a government hospital and now, her condition is stable, according to the corporation.
Basically, Aedes mosquitoes spread the Zika virus. This type of infection during pregnancy can lead to certain birth defects in the child. There is no medicine or vaccine for Zika, which has symptoms like headache, rash, fever, red eyes, joint pain, and muscle pain. On August 23, BMC declared that the first Zika virus case had been recorded in the city after a 79-year-old man contracted the viral infection. According to BMC, the man recovered from it completely.
