Actor-Director Manobala Dies Due to Liver-Related Problems

Versatile actor Manobala died on Wednesday and leaving Tamil fans and celebrities in shock. The actor-director Manobala was suffering from liver-related problems and took his last breath at his residence in Chennai. He was 69. Earlier, he was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai but later on, he was shifted to his residence in Saligramam. For the last 15 days, he was unwell and his body stopped responding to treatment.

He was known for his comedic roles, and well-known director back in the 80s and 90s. He has directed various superstars, including Radhika, Rajnikanth, Prabhu, Suhasini, Sivaji Ganesan and Sathyaraj. His popular films are En Purushanthaan Enakku Mattumthaan, Oorkavalan, and Dhoorathu Pachai. 

Manobala started his career as an assistant director. Later, he made his debut as a director with Agaya Gangai (1982), which had Karthik and Suhasini in the lead roles. 

He has also shared the screen with the best actors in Tamil cinema, such as Vijay, Karthik, Suriya, Dhanush, and Jaya Ravi. He is best known for his roles in Nanban, Siruthai, and Yaaradi Nee Mohini. Although he made small appearances or small roles in movies, he made a huge impact on his fans. Apart from films, he had worked in reality shows and serials. He used to upload videos on his YouTube channel, Manobala’s Waste Paper that features interviews with popular film stars, and he used to share his own experiences in the film industry. 

To convey condolences for the demise of his dear friend, superstar Rajnikanth took to Twitter. Rajnikanth has acted in Oorkavalan directed by Manobala. Apart from Rajnikanth, various actors took to Twitter to convey condolences for the death of Manobala, including Gautham Karthik, Manoj Manchu, DD Neelakandan, Vijay, etc.
