Chethana Raj, a Kannada actress, died yesterday (May 17) at a private Dr. Shetty Cosmetic hospital in Bengaluru, where she had been admitted for ‘fat-free’ plastic surgery. As fluid accumulated in her lungs, the actress developed complications. Despite attempts to save her, she eventually died. Her parents have filed a complaint accusing the doctors of negligence.
Because the cosmetic hospital lacked an ICU, she was transferred to Kade Hospital in Manjunath Nagar, where doctors allegedly claimed she was brought dead. Her family members also claimed that she was admitted to the hospital on May 16, 2022, at 9:30 A.M. without informing them.
Soon after the news of Chethana Raj’s death broke, Kaade Hospital’s ICU Intensivist, Dr. Sandeep V, filed a report with the Basaveshwarnagar Police Station in Bangalore, stating that at around 5:30 P.M. on May 16, one doctor named Melvin, an anesthetist, barged into their hospital with a patient (who was later found unresponsive), disregarding all hospital protocols and threatening their security. Further details about how the incident did not appear normal were added to the report, which stated that they strongly objected to such behavior by the doctors, prompting them to file a report.
