While India is battling Coronavirus, and now the cases of yellow fungus are on the rise in some parts of the country. Black fungus and white fungus cases also have been reported in some areas of the country.
The central government has urged all the states to declare that black fungus is dangerous. States like Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Telangana have already announced it as a dangerous disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897.
On 25th May, more than 5,400 cases of black fungus or mucormycosis have been reported in 18 states, and higher cases are registered in Maharashtra and Gujarat, said the Union Health Ministry. People who suffer from diabetes and are overusing cheap steroids are at higher risk for these fungal diseases.

The fungal infection is mostly being found in covid-19 affected patients with high diabetes problems. If care is not taken, then it may lead to death.
