For the past nine months, Bangladesh has been struggling with the worst dengue outbreak and it has lost over 1,000 people, as per local media reports. The Bangladesh Directorate General of Health Services released data on Monday, which said that 1,017 people have lost their lives to dengue since January this year. According to data, more than 2 lakh people have been infected with dengue – thus making it the worst outbreak. Among those who lost their lives, more than 100 children have died.
Dengue Cases have been Increasing
According to earlier records, this year, it witnessed a rise in dengue cases almost 4 times. In 2022, according to the health agency, around 281 people died and more than 1,000 people died in just nine months.
