He was also the CM of West Bengal for 14 years. On the 4th of February 1961, he got “The Bharat Ratna” award. He dedicated his life to treating people and inspiring millions. In 1976, B.C. Roy National Award was created in his honour to honour outstanding individuals in the fields of science, health, public affairs, the arts, philosophy, and literature.
